Furthermore, a research on speeding was conducted in September 2010 using both qualitative and quantitative methods to make a pre-assessment on the speeding intervention and particularly to identify baseline indicators for the intervention. The study consisted of secondary data collection, based on the road crash and victim information system (RCVIS), speed observation (in close collaboration with traffic police) and survey interviews. The methodology and results from this speeding research have been adapted to be one of the monitoring tools for the 2011-2020 National Road Safety Action Plan. The results also became a baseline for speeding intervention in Phnom Penh and surrounding areas. Through the research findings, lobby and advocacy will be conducted by HIB team towards the National Road Safety Committee and ministry of interior to have higher commitment towards the speeding intervention, with evidence based approach. The final research report will be available at the beginning of May 2011.
